Cantamar Publishing brings Bible Curriculum to teachers and children around the world in a meaningful, fun, and interactive way that encourages children to learn about God and His love.

My desire to share the Good News became evident as a child. At an early age I would set up a classroom of stuffed animals and teach them about Jesus.

As a young teen, a treasured teacher and gifted storyteller allowed me to test my own story telling skills with the younger children on Wednesday nights.

After completing college, getting married, and having my first child, I once again found myself teaching children. With very few resources, I was forced to create my own, which eventually lead to developing preschool Bible curriculum that reflected my teaching style.

All along the way, God was providing me opportunities to creatively share Biblical truths with children ultimately resulting in the creation of The Building Blocks Learning Program. That was 24 years ago! I have had the joy of using The Building Blocks Learning Program at home with my own children, as well as at four different churches as the children’s Pastor. It has been a tremendous privilege to have churches and families all over the world using the materials published by Cantamar Publishing.

Over the years a few things have changed. We have expanded The Building Blocks Learning Program to include curriculum for elementary age children and have added many more volumes. We continue to update and revise our materials in an effort to keep them fresh and relevant.

The personal connection I enjoyed with Sunday School teachers as a child had a powerful influence on my life. That influence urges me to continue to create materials that foster that one-on-one relationship. While our changing times emphasize the use of technology and entertainment, I believe it is that heart-to-heart connection in the classroom that makes a powerful difference.

My life is also very different these days. My amazingly supportive husband and I are now empty nesters. My three homeschooled children have become adults, completed college, and gotten married – well, my youngest is in his last semester and is getting married in June 2016. I have wonderfully chubby grandson who is full of smiles. And after more than twenty years of being on staff at various churches overseeing children’s ministries, as well as a host of other ministries, I have stepped away from my staff position to devote more time to Cantamar Publishing and to pursue my passion for coaching leaders as a Certified Christian Life Coach.

I am excited about this next season of life and possibilities of using The Building Blocks Learning Program with my grandchildren! It has been delightful to see my own children using the materials and contributing in various ways. And I would be delighted to connect with you. Let’s partner together to share God’s love and reach children for Him.

Cantamar is a Spanish word that translates “singing sea”. When we started Cantamar Publishing in 1992, we lived near the Pacific Ocean in southern California, so incorporating the Spanish heritage of the sea and our love for God’s beautiful ocean seemed like a natural fit. In our company name we celebrate the glory of our Father, and express His desire that everyone praise Him.

We moved to Georgia, and most recently to Chattanooga, Tennessee, but remain dedicated to our original mission of creating dynamic teaching materials for churches, preschools and families.

We know that not all teachers are the same, just as children are all different. For this reason our materials are filled with choices intended to inspire and challenge teachers so that they can communicate exciting spiritual truths to children.
